Rail Yard Crew
Rail Yard Crew - operates under the supervision of the Rail Crew Foreman unloading aggregate from rail cars. This may include shoveling various types of aggregates, bending, lifting, cleaning cars, etc., other duties as requested. This is physically strenuous work; must be able to lift 75 lbs. The job may take place in various locations in North Dakota with out of town work required (pay per diem for out town work). Work is primarily outdoors, lasting from April through the middle of December which is seasonal, full-time, some weekends.
Primary Job Function:
Work hours are generally 10 hour days, but often exceed that during the end of the season reaching 70-90 hours per week at times.
The Rail Crew worker must wear hearing protection and sturdy work boots.
• Prepare the pit and work area.
• Unload cars.
• Complete routine maintenance.
• Complete shop work.
• Install rail ties.
Compensation package is dependent upon qualifications and experience
Must have current valid driver's license and be able to pass federally mandated drug testing program.
